The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a major financial breakthrough following the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, confirming a revenue influx of Rs 3 billion from the tournament. In a press conference, PCB spokesperson Aamir Mir and Chief Financial Officer Javed Murtaza addressed allegations made by Indian media, firmly rejecting them and highlighting the board’s strong financial performance.
Mir stated that all expenses related to the Champions Trophy were covered by the International Cricket Council (ICC), while the PCB profited through gate money and ticket sales. An additional Rs 3 billion is expected from the ICC after a financial audit, significantly surpassing the original Rs 2 billion revenue target set for the tournament.

Crediting PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi for the board’s financial turnaround, Mir revealed that the PCB’s total revenue for the 2023-24 fiscal year reached Rs 10 billion—marking a 40% increase from the previous year. With these figures, the PCB now ranks among the world’s top three wealthiest cricket boards. He also noted that the board contributed Rs 40 million in taxes.
Highlighting infrastructure development, Mir praised the swift renovation of stadiums under Naqvi’s leadership. “For the first time in 29 years, major stadium upgrades were carried out, and completed within just four months to meet international standards,” he said.
Further elaborating on the financial commitment, CFO Javed Murtaza disclosed that a total budget of Rs 18 billion was allocated for stadium development. “Phase One received Rs 12 billion, of which Rs 10.5 billion has already been spent,” he confirmed. The remaining funds will go toward further upgrades in stadiums across Pakistan.
The PCB has also laid out future plans to revamp cricketing venues in Karachi, Faisalabad, and Rawalpindi as part of its ongoing infrastructure enhancement strategy.
With strong revenues, upgraded facilities, and strategic planning, the PCB is setting a new standard in international cricket management and development.
