Industry experts predict that petrol prices may rise by Rs. 7.67 per liter, while high-speed diesel (HSD) could see an increase of Rs. 3.72 per liter. Kerosene oil and light diesel oil (LDO) are also projected to rise by Rs. 2.39 and Rs. 0.92 per liter, respectively. These adjustments, influenced by global oil prices, currency exchange rates, and financial dynamics in the energy sector, might result in petrol costing Rs. 273.28 per liter, HSD at Rs. 281.25 per liter, kerosene oil at Rs. 184.25 per liter, and LDO at Rs. 166.65 per liter in the latter part of July 2024.
Global factors like oil prices and exchange rates are driving these potential changes. The Inland Freight Equalisation Margin (IFEM) is also expected to increase.

Possible Additional Levy Sources warn that an extra Rs. 5 levy per liter could further inflate prices. In this scenario, petrol could reach Rs. 278.28, and diesel could hit Rs. 286.17 per liter.
