The government has raised the prices of petroleum products for the first half of October 2025, according to the latest notification issued by the Ministry of Finance.
The price of petrol has gone up by Rs4.70, which means consumers will now pay Rs268.68 per litre at the pump. High-speed diesel has also become more expensive, with an increase of Rs4.40, setting the new price at Rs276.81 per litre.
These revised rates will stay in place for the next two weeks, starting from October 1.
The increase is expected to impact transportation and goods movement across the country, as high-speed diesel is widely used in trucks and buses. Petrol, on the other hand, directly affects millions of private vehicle owners and motorcyclists.
Fuel price adjustments are made every fortnight in Pakistan, based on global market trends and the local currency exchange rate. With this latest hike, both households and businesses are likely to feel the burden of higher fuel costs in the coming days.
