PIA passengers travelling to London and Manchester will now be able to connect to more than 50 destinations across the UK by train following a new partnership between Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and AccesRail.
Under the new “air-to-rail” arrangement, passengers can purchase train tickets alongside their flight bookings, removing the need to arrange onward rail travel separately. The service integrates rail networks in the UK and Canada into PIA’s booking system, making multi-city journeys more seamless for travellers.
Passengers can add rail segments to their itineraries through PIA booking offices, registered travel agents, as well as the airline’s official website and mobile application.
PIA said the same facility will also benefit travellers arriving in Toronto, allowing them to connect onward by rail to eight major cities across Canada through the partner service.
AccesRail operates as a rail distribution provider, enabling railway operators to sell tickets through airline reservation systems and global distribution platforms. The service supports schedule and fare integration, handles payments through standard industry settlement processes, and offers e-ticketing. AccesRail currently distributes rail products for several operators, including BritRail and multiple European rail networks.
