Google’s new foldable phone, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, is facing a strange battery issue. Some users are seeing a question mark symbol (?) next to the battery icon, which makes it unclear how much battery is left.

The issue was first reported on Reddit. One user said the question mark appeared suddenly, though restarting the phone temporarily solved the problem.

Possible Cause

According to a report, the problem might be happening when people use wireless chargers that are not Qi2 certified. These chargers may confuse the phone’s battery system, causing it to show the question mark.

However, in one case, the user was using Apple’s MagSafe charger, which is certified — meaning the problem may also be linked to software, not just chargers.

Users React

Some users fear this could be an early sign of battery failure, saying their phones stopped working days after the symbol appeared.
Others believe it’s just a software bug from a recent update.

Google’s Response

Google has said restarting the phone can temporarily fix the issue. The company also recommends using certified Qi2 wireless chargers.
Google confirmed that a software update in November will permanently fix the problem.

Battery Issues Aren’t New for Pixel

This is not the first time Google’s Pixel phones have had battery-related complaints. Older models like Pixel 4a, 6a, 7, and 7 Pro also faced issues such as overheating and swollen batteries.

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold also gained attention earlier when its battery exploded during a durability test on YouTube.
