PM Announces Division of South Waziristan
According to news sources, Prime Minister Imran Khan declared the separation of South Waziristan into two administrative zones in Islamabad. It was decided to bolster the administrative infrastructure and expedite the development of the region.

During his address to the farmers’ convention, the prime minister stated that development in the fields of agriculture, population control, timely provision of justice, abolition of the system of oppression, the best educational environment, the provision of better health facilities, and a rise in productivity are essential for the country’s development.
In addition, he disclosed that the government will construct ten new dams in the region, boosting its water storage capacity from 14 to 28 million acre-feet (MAF).

During the event, the premier also gave Kissan Cards to the region’s farmers. First-wave Kissan Cards are being issued to 200,000 of the 500,000 registered farmers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to reports.
During the second phase, farmers will receive interest-free/low-margin loans, and their crops will be assured. To boost agriculture in the province, farmers will receive a subsidy of PKR 1,048.38 million during the fiscal year 2021-22.
