PM Directs Provinces to Finish Cadastral Mapping of Illegal
According to news reports, Islamabad’s Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan stated that a total of PKR 5.5 trillion worth of state land has been encroached upon.
The prime minister declared that Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore alone include encroached state land worth PKR 2,630,000,000,000.
According to sources, the complete illegally occupied land has been uncovered following the completion of the first phase of the cadastral mapping procedure, which surveyed land in three major metropolitan centers of the country.
In addition, he noted that illegal encroachment on forest area worth a total of PKR 1.86 trillion is the major cause of the country’s diminishing forest cover.
Similarly, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Climate Change, Malik Amin Aslam, stated that roughly 160,000 acres of state land have been encroached upon in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He added that after surveying 30,000 square kilometers of land, it was discovered that the land mafia had illegally occupied 700,000 acres.

Notably, the federal government has established the Federal Government Properties Management Authority (FGPMA) in order to recapture state properties from encroachers.
