PM Gives Go-Ahead to 22 Sports Projects Costing RS 5b
The establishment of 22 mega projects, with an estimated cost of Rs5 billion, has obtained Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s approval, giving Pakistan’s sports infrastructure development a boost.The suggested projects should be finished within the following three years.
This budget is in addition to the yearly development budget of Rs 2 billion, which is anticipated to be unveiled today (Friday). The provinces of Sindh will receive nine projects from the special budget under the heading of “Prime Minister’s Initiative for the Promotion of Sports,” Punjab will receive four, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will receive three projects apiece, Gilgit-Baltistan will receive two, and AJK would receive one.

Each of the Punjabi cities of Multan, Rajanpur, Muzaffargarh, and Toba Tek Singh will have a project costing Rs 200 million, while the multi-sports complex in Rajanpur will cost Rs 260 million. The development of the Tando Mohammad Khan and Matiari complexes in Sindh will cost Rs260 million, while the Tin Pin and Allied facilities in Karachi will cost Rs150 million. It will cost Rs 200 million to build a sports centre and gym in each of the additional cities: Kashmore, Larkana, Nawabshah, Khairpur, Mirpur Khas, and Kamber Shahdadkot.
Dera Murad Jamali’s project will be finished with a cost of Rs150 million, while the construction of sports complexes in Dera Bugti and Lasbela would be finished in three years at a cost of Rs260 million each.The Central Government would spend Rs 200 million on each of the Multipurpose Gymnasium Halls in Skardu and Gilgit City, while a proposal to build one in Rawalakot (AJK) is also under consideration.

The 22 megaprojects that have been suggested are the largest ever for the growth of sports in the nation. The prime minister wants to build sporting facilities all around the nation.
