PM Inaugurates Pakistan’s Smart Forest in Sheikhupura
As part of the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project, Prime Minister Imran Khan launched a “smart forest” in Rakh Jhok Forest, Sheikhupura (RRUDP).

In his remarks, the prime minister emphasized the significance of the intelligent forest. He stated, “We must make Pakistan a better place for future generations.”
The prime minister added that he has witnessed widespread deforestation in the country, which has had a negative effect on the local animals. He stated that Allah has bestowed Pakistan with abundant riches that must be safeguarded.
The prime minister stated that Lahore was formerly referred to as the “City of Gardens,” but that the city now faces tremendous environmental devastation and pollution.

In addition, the prime minister added, “In 60 years, 640 million trees were planted; in five years, the PTI government planted one billion trees.”
Under the RRUDP, stated PM Khan, 100 million trees will be planted. He stated that three dams will be constructed on the river Ravi to aid in water storage and enhance subsurface water levels.
