PM Inaugurates Ship Lift, Transfer System at Karachi Shipyard
Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated the ship lift and transfer system at the shipyard in Karachi, which would boost the efficiency of the maritime industry.

The prime minister performed the inauguration by touching an electronic panel on this occasion. Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi, Minister for Defence Production Zubaida Jalal, members of parliament, and Pakistan Navy officers were in attendance.
The shiplift will serve as a gigantic elevator platform to lift the ship out of the water for dry-docking ashore and then lower it back into the water after the repairs are complete.
The ship transfer system has been designed with electro-hydraulic trolleys to transfer ships from shiplifts to dry docks on land.
The prime minister noted that the government was concentrating on export promotion, encouraging Pakistanis living overseas to send more money home, and seeking international investment.

He characterized the installation of a ship lift system as an effective technological application for saving money and generating foreign currency through the provision of services.
He praised the Pakistan Navy for introducing the ship lift and transfer technology, which he anticipated would encourage economic activity.
