PM Opens Work on Capital’s First Judicial Complex at G-11

Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan began construction of the city’s first-ever judicial complex at G-11.

Currently, the district courts in F-8 Markaz are housed in modest rented buildings, where litigants, attorneys, and judicial personnel frequently encounter difficulties. The prime minister performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the 93-court judicial complex.

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has awarded the Frontier Works Organization a contract for Rs1.4 billion (FWO). In addition to the IHC chief justice, several judicial and government officials were present for the groundbreaking event.

In his remarks to the IHC chief justice, the prime minister recalled the attorneys’ campaign against then-Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf in 2007, following the expulsion of the country’s top justice. He stated that the lawyers’ movement was the pinnacle of democratic efforts to establish the rule of law in the country.
