PM Orders Setting Up Leopard Protection Zone in Margalla Hills
According to news sources, Imran Khan, the prime minister of Pakistan, has authorized the development of a Leopard Protection Zone (LPZ) in the Margalla highlands to protect the growing population of wild predators.
The Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) revealed in a meeting with the prime minister that the leopard population in the region is expanding, which is a good sign, and that steps will soon be made to protect the wildlife. On routes 4 and 6 of the Margalla Hills, gates and fences will be installed to achieve this objective.
In addition, the prime minister authorized the construction of an Animal Information Center at Marghazar Zoo to monitor the constantly evolving wildlife conditions in Margalla Hills National Park.

PM Khan also authorized the National Climate Change Policy 2021 and the National Wildlife Policy 2021 to alleviate environmental damage. According to him, Pakistan is now regarded as a “Green Champion” because of its ambitious climate-change programs, particularly the Billion Tree Tsunami effort.
