PM Visits Haripur Today to Open Work on Power Project
Prime Minister Imran Khan will visit Tarbela Dam today to lay the foundation stone for the dam’s fifth extension project, according to official sources.

According to government and party sources, Wapda officials will brief the prime minister on the power project’s current generation capability.
Three power-producing units, each with a 510MW capacity, will be erected at Tunnel 5 of the Tarbela reservoir at a total cost of $807 million, according to official papers.

The World Bank and the Infrastructure Investment Bank are the primary funders of the Ghazi tehsil of Haripur construction project.
By 2024, the project would contribute 1,530 MW to the national grid.
