PMD Predicts Rainfall in Western Regions Starting December 20

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall in the western and northern parts of the country from December 20 to 22, urging tourists and travelers to remain cautious.

According to the Met Office, a new westerly weather system will enter Balochistan on December 19. By December 20, it is expected to move toward the upper regions, bringing rain to various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Moderate snowfall is likely in mountainous areas.

Islamabad, the Potohar region, and Mianwali are expected to receive rain, while Murree and the Galiyat may experience a mix of rain and snowfall. Most plain areas of Punjab are likely to remain cloudy, with chances of drizzle.

During December 19 and 20, partly cloudy weather is expected in Sindh. Balochistan may receive rain and snowfall during the same period.

The PMD has advised citizens, particularly tourists and travelers in hilly regions, to take precautionary measures and stay alert due to potentially hazardous weather conditions.
