Nawaz Sharif, the president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), made a suggestion on Sunday that led the party to resolve to increase the size of the Punjab cabinet.
According to sources, the Sharif family held in-depth talks on the nation’s political problems and urgent public concerns during a crucial consultative meeting of the PML-N’s central leadership in Donga Gali, Murree.
PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, former Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif attended the meeting.
The leadership decided to move forward with expanding the provincial cabinet at Nawaz’s recommendation. It is anticipated that 10 new ministers and advisors will be appointed, most of them will come from South Punjab.
According to sources, Nawaz has spent the last three days living in Murree’s Bagh-e-Shaheedan neighborhood.
Nawaz, CM, and Hamza met at Donga Gali at the prime minister’s request and decided to finalize the list of applicants for the new cabinet positions.
Nawaz and CM Maryam will work together to create the shortlist of choices, and following final consultations, official announcements will be made.
