Police in Khwazakhela have arrested the main suspects involved in the torture and death of a 12-year-old madrassa student, according to District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Omar Khan. The key accused, Qari Omar and his son Ehsan, were taken into custody after a week-long search following the tragic incident that occurred on July 21.

The young student, named Farhan, was reportedly beaten to death by teachers at a religious seminary in the Chaliyar area of Khwazakhela, Swat. Police say the child was punished for being absent from class. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but was declared dead upon arrival.

The case triggered public anger and demands for justice. On the day of the incident, police arrested ten suspects from the madrassa. However, the two main suspects, Qari Omar, who was the head teacher, and his son Ehsan, had escaped. DPO Khan said they were caught after tireless efforts by the police team, raising the total number of arrests to 12.

Earlier, another son of the main accused, Abdullah, had already been arrested. Police have also registered a case against seven other teachers after two more children came forward with similar abuse complaints.

The FIR includes serious charges, including murder and physical abuse of students. Authorities have confirmed that all suspects are in custody and will face legal action.

DPO Omar Khan assured the public that the police are fully committed to delivering justice and that no one involved in this cruel act will be spared. The case remains under investigation, and further legal proceedings are expected in the coming days.
