Saba Talpur of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has emerged victorious in the NA-213 Umerkot by-election, securing a strong lead over her competitors. Based on unofficial and unconfirmed results from 479 polling stations, Talpur secured 158,446 votes, more than doubling the count of her closest rival, Lal Malhi of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), who garnered 79,790 votes.
This by-election win marks a significant political moment for the PPP in the Umerkot constituency, reaffirming its stronghold in the region. The seat was previously held by Nawab Yousaf Talpur, a veteran PPP politician who passed away recently.
