Prime Minister Formed Committee To Resolve Issues of IT Industry
ISLAMABAD, January 06, 2023- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif formed a committee to resolve the issues of the IT industry.
The PM formed a committee to resolve the issues hindering the IT sector’s progress. The purpose of the committee is to extend support to the industry and encourage its growth. Representatives from the State Bank of Pakistan, the Ministry of Information and Technology, and the Ministry of Finance will also be part of the committee.

A target was set to increase IT exports to reach $15 billion from $3 billion in 3 years. It was also decided that those industrialists who would contribute to increasing exports would be appreciated at the government level. IT experts discussed the issues being faced by the sector in the premiere, and relevant departments were advised to take the respective measures accordingly. The PM also advised the universities and HEC to increase the number of IT professionals from 6 million to 15 million. He also directed to upgrade the curriculum to meet the requirements.
