Through the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP), the government has spent close to Rs. 150 billion in the first half of the current fiscal year (FY24), from July through December.
Our data showed that government institutions utilized a sizable amount of the Rs. 306 billion PSDP authorization throughout the six months. Out of the total, development projects started by several ministries and divisions received allocations totaling Rs. 130 billion.

The Cabinet Division spent more than Rs. 35 billion in development money. For the purpose of advancing its development projects, the Ministry of Water Resources invested Rs. 25 billion. However, the Railways Division funded its projects with over Rs. 11.44 billion. A total of Rs. 29.5 billion was invested by provinces and special areas to fund their individual development initiatives.
In order to forward its initiatives, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) invested more than Rs. 9 billion. For its ongoing projects, the Ministry of Housing spent Rs. 4.86 billion in the interim.
The Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) and the National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) invested more than Rs. 3 billion in their development initiatives.
