The Pakistan Super League administration is exploring plans to bring major international stars into the tournament for its 11th edition, aiming to boost the league’s global appeal.

Sources say franchises may soon be allowed to approach players directly, a move designed to make it easier to sign high-profile, globally recognised cricketers. Under this proposed model, teams would be able to negotiate individual agreements with overseas players instead of relying solely on the traditional draft process.

To support this initiative, PSL management is expected to provide an additional $100,000 to each franchise specifically for signing international talent.

According to insiders, talks have already been held with England batting star Joe Root, and his participation in the 11th season is considered highly likely.

If approved, these changes could mark a significant shift in how the PSL attracts elite global players and further strengthen the league’s competitive and commercial standing.
