Successful raids against two franchisees of a mobile phone firm with a location in Lala Musa were carried out by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Zonal Office in Lahore in close cooperation with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cyber Crime Circle.
These franchisees were discovered to be engaged in the unauthorized distribution of SIM cards. A laptop, a phone, 48 BVS devices, 48 SIMs, and silicon thumbs were taken as evidence during the operation, and the FIA team also detained two people on the property.

The FIA is currently looking at the situation more deeply. On the basis of facts pertaining to the illicit issuing of SIMs by the sale channels, PTA had earlier filed complaints with FIA. The same crew carried out a similar raid in Kasur a few days ago.
The operations are a part of PTA’s ongoing initiatives to stop the MBVS’s (Multi-Finger Biometric Verification System) circumvention. The Authority’s commitment to ending the issuance of unlawful SIM cards is underscored by this firm and unshakable pledge, according to PTA’s statement.
