PTA Takes Action Against Illegal Internet Service Provider in Lahore
In Lahore’s Walton Road, a criminal internet service provider was raided by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
An operable internet setup that was being run without a legal licence was found during the operation. As a result, three people were detained and 30 Optical Network Terminals (ONTs), one server, and one router were taken into custody. The area has been blocked off, and the FIA is conducting further legal investigation.

The authority said in its statement that its unwavering dedication, ongoing vigilance, and continuous efforts to eliminate unlawful internet services were responsible for its success. These measures are crucial in reducing tax evasion and revenue misreporting, which reduces the loss to the national treasury, it added.
To prevent any unexpected service interruptions, the statement advised the public to exclusively use telecommunication services from PTA-licensed providers.
