PTI rules out talks with government for now, says Ali Zafar

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has once again made it clear that there will be no negotiations with the government at this stage. PTI parliamentary leader in the Senate, Ali Zafar, said on Saturday that the party founder has given strict directions not to hold talks right now.

Speaking to a private TV channel, Zafar explained that the founder of PTI has decided to stick to his overall strategy, and until that changes, the party will not sit at the table with the government. However, he also stressed that doors to dialogue should never be permanently closed and communication channels should remain open for the future.

When asked about the upcoming by-elections, Zafar said the party has not reached a final decision. He confirmed that two opinions exist within PTI. Some members want to boycott the polls, while others believe the party should take part. Zafar said he personally supports contesting the elections, as leaving the field empty would only benefit others. A final decision will be taken after consulting with the founder.

On the legal front, the PTI leader said the party is determined to continue its court battle to secure the position of opposition leader in the Senate. He stated that this fight is important for PTI’s role in parliament.

Zafar highlighted that while the founder has ruled out talks for now, it would not be wise to reject dialogue forever. He said that politics requires keeping options open, and at some point in the future, negotiations may be necessary.

This statement reflects PTI’s current hardline stance under the founder’s instructions but also leaves space for a possible political breakthrough in the future.
