Public Hearing for Environmental Approval of 10th Avenue
Islamabad: The Pakistan Environment Protection Agency (EPA) said on February 19 (Saturday) that a public hearing on the issuance of environmental approval for the 10th Avenue project will take place on Thursday, according to media reports (February 24).

According to the specifics, the EPA has invited all interested parties to attend and provide feedback during the public hearing. The public hearing will be held at Jinnah Convention Centre. According to sources, 925 mature trees would be relocated prior to the project’s debut.
The Capital Development Government (CDA) was supposed to construct the 10th Avenue project, but the authority instead awarded the contract to National Logistics Cell (NLC).
The road project would connect IJP Road to Khayaban-e-Iqbal, facilitating the movement of citizens from various sectors. The project will decrease traffic congestion in the sectors F-10, G-9, G-10, H-10, I-9, and I-10.
According to the Pakistan Environmental Protection Act (PEPA) of 1997, all development projects are required to prepare and review Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports. The purpose of an EIA is to evaluate a project’s potential environmental impacts.

According to the EPA, implementing a proper tree planting plan will reduce the impact on flora. In addition to improving the ecology, the roadside vegetation will also enhance the aesthetics.
