The annual Urs (death anniversary) of Data Ganj Bakhsh Syed Ali Hajwari (RA) will be observed in Lahore on September 7 (Thursday), according to temporary chief minister of Punjab Mohsin Naqvi.
CM Naqvi remarked that the three-day Urs celebration will start on Tuesday (tomorrow) during his visit to Data Darbar. According to the chief minister, efforts are being made to strengthen the event arrangements as the celebrations will last for three days, from Tuesday to Thursday.

In order to guarantee that everyone attending the event may eat at the langar khana, he also mentioned that they held a meeting with the commissioner. The top qawwals will perform at the mehfil-e-samaa, which is also being planned.
The best preparations would be made for Chehlum, processions, and Urs, CM Naqvi emphasised. The chief minister addressed the issue of traffic and said that a strategy had been put in place; parking facilities will be available if security clearances were secured.
Additionally, he continued, work will soon start on the extension of Data Darbar, and plans exist to increase the space available for the mosques and the shrine.
