Following sporadic rains and overflowing drains that flooded a significant portion of Pasrur and the surrounding villages, the district administration declared a holiday for all private and public schools in Pasrur on Wednesday.
Officials claim that water entered more than a hundred villages as a result of breaches in drainage dykes and safety barriers brought on by the ongoing flooding.
In addition to the main city highways and railway tracks being flooded, thousands of acres of rice and fodder crops were reported to be underwater, causing traffic disruptions in the area.
Given that multiple highways leading to educational institutions had become inaccessible, authorities indicated that closing schools was a preventive measure to guarantee students’ safety.
