The Punjab Counter Narcotics Force on Thursday foiled a major drug smuggling attempt along the Indus River and recovered 43 kilograms of charas with an estimated value of Rs. 13 million, according to official sources.

A spokesperson for the CNF said that intelligence reports had revealed that narcotics were being transported from District Swabi to Punjab using boats operating on the Indus River. Based on confirmed information, CNF teams launched a timely operation and successfully intercepted the consignment.

The seized drugs have been taken into custody as per legal procedures. Authorities have started further investigations to trace and arrest other individuals involved in the smuggling network.

Officials said the operation reflects the Punjab government’s strict policy against narcotics and highlights the CNF’s ongoing efforts to monitor and block drug trafficking routes across the province.
