Punjab Government Approves Rehmat Card Program for Widows and Orphans

The Punjab government has announced a new welfare initiative called the Chief Minister Punjab Rehmat Card to support widowed women and orphaned children across the province.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved the program and directed relevant departments to begin preparations for its implementation.

Officials said a transparent digital system has been developed to ensure that financial support reaches widows and orphaned children directly. The system is designed to deliver assistance to eligible families in a clear and efficient manner.

Under the program, widowed women will receive Rs. 100,000 through the Rehmat Card, while orphaned children will be given Rs. 25,000 each. In total, eligible families may receive up to Rs. 100,000 in financial support.

Sources added that the Chief Minister Punjab Rehmat Card program is expected to be officially launched shortly after Eid.

Special Assistant for Ushr and Zakat Rashid Nasrullah also briefed the Chief Minister in detail about the program and its implementation.

Speaking on the initiative, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that widowed women in Punjab will no longer be left without support. She said the government is taking practical steps to improve their welfare and living conditions.

She further stated that every citizen has an equal right to the resources of Punjab and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening social welfare programs in the province.
