Punjab Government Declares Public Holiday on Shab-e-Barat

According to an official notification, all provincial government offices, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, local councils, as well as government and semi-government educational institutions will remain closed on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.

Authorities have directed relevant departments to make adequate arrangements at mosques, shrines, and cemeteries, where large gatherings are expected. These measures are aimed at ensuring public safety and the smooth management of religious activities during the night.

Separately, the Sindh government has also declared a holiday for educational institutions on the same day to mark Shab-e-Barat, allowing students and staff to observe the occasion.
