The Punjab School Education Department (SED) has announced that all public and private schools across the province will remain closed from March 10 to March 31, 2026, as part of fuel conservation measures.
According to a notification issued on March 9, the decision was taken in light of the evolving international situation and its possible economic impact, including the risk of oil shortages.
The notification states that all schools in Punjab will remain closed during this period to help reduce fuel consumption.
However, examinations and assessments that have already been scheduled will continue according to the previously announced timetable.
The department also noted that academic activities may continue through online platforms where possible, to maintain the learning process during the closure period.
In addition, the School Education Department directed all Chief Executive Officers of District Education Authorities to ensure strict implementation of the orders.
