Punjab Govt Announces 15% Increase in Pensions for Next Year

The Punjab government has proposed an increase of Rs. 5,000, bringing the minimum salary to Rs. 37,000. It was announced by Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman during the presentation of the proposed budget for the fiscal year 2024–2025.

In Punjab, the minimum salary is currently Rs. 32,000. The federal government had increased the minimum wage in its budget the day before from Rs. 32,000 to Rs. 37,000.

The Punjabi government has also suggested a 15% pension increase and a 25% raise in salaries. These recommendations are anticipated to be accepted and will go into effect on July 1st, 2024.
