The Gujranwala Motorway connection road has another inauguration date, declared by the interim Punjab administration.
It was announced last month that on January 20, 2024, the two-lane road that is now under construction to connect Gujranwala with the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway would open for traffic.
Still, the authorities have missed yet another deadline. Caretaker Chief Minister for Punjab Mohsin Naqvi claims that the project is almost ready, with 85 percent of the work already accomplished.

Naqvi declared that on January 31, traffic will begin to flow on the Gujranwala Motorway link route. In addition, he gave the order to speed up the project’s work.
According to Mohsin Naqvi, the trip between Gujranwala and Lahore will take only 45 minutes when the project opens to traffic.
The Frontier Works Organization (FWO) personnel gave the caretaker CM an update on the route’s state. It is estimated that the project will require expenditures of Rs. 11 billion.
