Punjab Notifies Increase in Salaries and Pensions
Tuesday, the Punjab interim administration announced a significant 35 percent increase in the pay for government employees in grades 1 through 16.
According to the official announcement, the government has also approved an increase in salary for workers in grades 17 to 22 of 30%.
The regional government has also authorized an increase in pension payouts of 17.5%.

However, as stated in the notification, the compensation increase will be applied based on the civil officials’ current base pay.
It is important to draw attention to the recent protests government workers in Punjab staged in order to demand a rise in pay. Federal government promises brought an end to the protests.
A coalition known as the All administration Employees Alliance had been formed to apply pressure on the Punjab administration to give in to their demands.
