According to police sources, the drone—measuring approximately five to six feet—was reportedly flown from across the border with a surveillance mission targeting sensitive locations. Authorities confirmed that the drone, which was also carrying explosives, was intercepted and disabled by electronic jamming systems before it could cause damage.
In response to the incident, IGP Dr Usman Anwar stated that Punjab Police is on high alert and that all operational, strategic, and logistical measures have been activated. He emphasized that the force is working closely with district administrations, Civil Defense, and Rescue 1122 to ensure swift response and public safety in case of any untoward situation.
Security has been intensified at all key locations and inter-provincial border posts, with special attention given to high-risk and sensitive zones. The IGP assured the public that peace and law and order will be maintained, and the force is prepared for any contingency.
The situation remains tense as authorities continue to investigate the incident, while heightened surveillance and patrols are underway across Lahore and other major cities in Punjab.
