Punjab Reported Over 1,000 Road Accidents in 24 Hours
Due to an increase in the number of automobiles and motorcycles, particularly in densely populated regions, road accidents are becoming more common throughout Pakistan.
The Emergency Services Department (ESD) reacted to 1,097 accidents affecting 1,164 persons throughout Punjab over the course of the last 24 hours.

Of these, 573 experienced minor injuries, 591 experienced serious injuries, and 9 experienced fatalities. Rescue 1122 provided on-site care for those with minor injuries, while patients with severe injuries were taken to hospitals.
Strict Measures
To guarantee traffic discipline, the Lahore City Traffic Police (CTP) has implemented rigorous regulations. The department recently proposed raising a number of fines by up to Rs. 5,000. It was claimed that raising the penalty would induce offenders to reconsider their actions.

The penalties for breaking the law—such as running a red light, riding a bike without a helmet, driving the wrong way, parking illegally, etc.—will be dramatically increased.
