Punjab’s Education Minister has announced that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif will launch the next phase of laptop distribution in another division on Monday. The ceremony is scheduled to take place at the University of Gujrat in Gujranwala Division.
The announcement comes as the provincial government continues expanding the Chief Minister’s Laptop Scheme across Punjab. Earlier, authorities extended the deadline for applications under the CM Punjab Laptop Program until February 28, 2026, giving more eligible students additional time to apply through the official online portal.
The government has also revised the eligibility criteria to include students enrolled in private universities. Under the updated policy, students from private institutions who have secured at least 65 percent marks are now eligible to apply for a free laptop under the scheme.
Officials say the broader scope of the program is intended to improve access to digital tools for students in higher education institutions across the province. Laptop distribution ceremonies are being organized division by division as part of the phased rollout of the initiative.
