Rana Sikandar Hayat has rejected viral claims about an extension in winter holidays for schools and colleges in Punjab, calling the circulating notification fake and misleading.

Speaking on the matter, the Punjab education minister confirmed that no official decision has been taken to extend the winter break. He said the Education Department has not issued any new notification, and there has been no change to the academic calendar.

Rana Sikandar Hayat clearly stated that all schools, colleges, and other educational institutions across Punjab will reopen on January 12 as scheduled. He urged students, parents, and teachers to rely only on official announcements and ignore false information shared on social media.

Education authorities have also advised the public to verify news from authentic government sources to avoid confusion. Officials emphasized that academic activities will resume normally from January 12, and attendance will be expected from the first day of reopening.

The clarification comes after fake notifications spread online, creating uncertainty among students and parents. The government has reiterated its commitment to transparent communication and timely updates through official channels only.
