All mail/express, intercity, saloon, and parcel trains will now have 5% higher prices, according to Pakistan Railways.
The price hike follows a significant increase in petroleum product prices that the government announced. Short lead passenger trains, shuttle trains, and long lead trains travelling between one hundred and two hundred and fifty kilometres will not be affected by the fee hike, according to a notification from Pakistan Railways.

The new fare table will be in force at all affected stations and booking/reservation offices as of September 19, 2023, which is tomorrow. The implementation of the 5% fare increase for reservations made in advance has also been requested from the Director IT. The Pakistan Railways website will provide the most recent fare table.
This is Railways’ second fare rise in a little more than a month. A 10% rate hike for all mail/express, intercity, shuttle, passenger trains, and saloons was announced by Railways as a result of the rise in fuel prices last month, and it will take effect on August 17, 2023.
Pakistan Railways increased the cost of shipping letters and moving motorcycles earlier in September by 5%.
