BALAKOT: Snowfall is still pouring in the Kaghan Valley and raining in Balakot and the neighboring areas. Babusar Top has received up to a foot of snow, while Batakundi, Jalkhad, and Lake Saiful Malook have recorded up to six inches.

Due to the continuing snowfall, officials have limited access beyond Batakundi, but the Kaghan Highway is available to travel up to this point. Residents and tourists in the Kaghan Valley and Balakot use winter gear to stay warm as temperatures have dropped below freezing in many places.
Travelers visiting Naran and the surrounding valleys have been advised by the local government to pack appropriately. Additionally, because of the snowfall, the Babusar-Naran Highway is closed. It is recommended that travelers who are going to Gilgit use the Karakoram Highway instead.
The long-awaited rain relieved the people of Abbottabad and the adjoining Galiyat villages. On Monday morning, the first rain of the winter season began, and it lasted sporadically until the evening.
Physicians and agricultural specialists hailed the delayed rain as a “gift from Almighty Allah” that will benefit the farming industry by boosting water levels and preventing viral diseases like dry cough and throat infections.
Following the rain, the city became colder due to brisk winds, which caused residents to pull their warmer clothing from closets and trunks.
