The Rawalpindi City Traffic Police provided licensing services to 1,386,887 citizens in 2025 and issued a record number of driving licenses during the year, according to its annual performance report.

The report shows that the department expanded access to driving license facilities across the Rawalpindi district, allowing a large number of residents to apply for learner permits and permanent licenses. Officials said the high volume of applications reflects growing awareness about legal driving requirements and improved public access to services.

During 2025, the traffic police issued more than 434,000 learner permits, indicating strong interest from first-time drivers. In addition, 244,825 new driving licenses were issued, the highest number ever recorded in a single year in Rawalpindi.

Officials credited the achievement to service-focused reforms introduced under the supervision of Farhan Aslam, who heads the Rawalpindi City Traffic Police. These measures included better management at licensing centers, faster processing, and wider availability of services for the public.

Traffic police officials said the department aims to further improve licensing services in the coming year by increasing efficiency and ensuring transparency. They added that providing easy access to legal driving documents plays an important role in improving road safety and traffic discipline across the city.
