Rawalpindi Plans to Bring 24 Densely Populated UCs into the Tax Net
Rawalpindi: According to our sources, the plan for 24 densely populated rural Union Councils (UCs) under the tax net was prepared for the district on December 12th.

Union councils shall be granted urban status in accordance with specifics. Water and sewerage taxes, property taxes, and professional board taxes will also be collected from the councils. Twenty key highways will be designated as commercial. All economic activity on these roadways will be subject to commercial taxation.
In addition, the Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control Department has begun an investigation to boost the district of Rawalpindi’s property tax revenue. Under this study, every commercially used residence will be surveyed.

According to sources, the Punjab Government is increasing the property tax on properties beginning at 5 Marla. In addition, 5 Marla properties that are rented, whether in part or in full, will pay taxes. In addition, shops and plazas built over the past five years will be required to pay taxes.
