Rawalpindi Ring Road Approved by EPA
The Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) project has been cleared by the Punjab Environment Protection Agency (EPA) for the development phase, according to Commissioner for Rawalpindi, Captain Rtd. Mohammad Mehmood.
He made this statement while presiding over a meeting in the Commissioner’s office regarding the Rawalpindi Ring Road initiative. He continued by saying that the RRR project’s development will take into account all pertinent suggestions made by the EPA in order to ensure that it helps solve the persistent air pollution in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

He added that approximately 300,000 saplings would also be planted beside the Rawalpindi Ring Road’s route. During the meeting, it was also disclosed that the National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK) has updated the design of the highway interchange to prevent damage to a shrine and also a natural spring.
The meeting’s attendees were also informed that the bridge will be constructed at the airport to maintain a natural water reservoir in accordance with the project’s environmentally beneficial feature. Mehmood emphasized the requirement for creating a comprehensive traffic management system for the Rawalpindi Ring Road project.
