RAWALPINDI: On Sunday, Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chattha visited the Rawalpindi Ring Road project site at Khasaleha Khurd to evaluate the project’s development.
Mr Chattha was informed during the briefing that the 38.3-kilometre-long Rawalpindi Ring Road would have five interchanges at Banth, Chak Beli Khan, Adiala Road, Chakri Road, and Thalian.
The project also calls for the building of a railroad bridge, five flyovers, and 21 tiny underpasses.
It’s important to note that construction had already started on a portion of the project close to Chakri Road where land was already in the district administration’s ownership. Land acquisition, however, has not yet started for other segments.
Speaking to the group, Commissioner Chattha expressed his happiness with the project’s quick advancement and promised that it would be finished in a year.

He also disclosed plans for an industrial area along the Ring Road, emphasizing the positive effects on the local economy and employment prospects that it would have.
The Commissioner emphasized the Rawalpindi Ring Road project’s crucial significance for regional growth and how it will considerably improve public transportation options.
He also claimed that there were officers from the revenue department working various shifts.
An independent validation survey of the land was underway, according to a senior official from the district administration, and the acquisition of the land would go more quickly.
The provincial government is anticipated to give the project $4 billion in the near future. Additionally, the contractor has started work on a 10-kilometre stretch of land that is already under administrative authority.
According to the caretaker province government’s goal of finishing the project within a year, the divisional administration has asked the contractor to move the project forward.
