RDA, NADRA Join Hands to Enhance Property Transfers

Rawalpindi: According to news released on November 8, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) and the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) have formally partnered to improve property transfer procedures through biometric verification services. At a meeting chaired by Liaquat Ali Chatha, the commissioner for Rawalpindi Division, the RDA’s governing council ratified this crucial deal.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and the RDA was also approved at the meeting. Through the implementation of the e-filing and office automation system (EFOAS), all property purchasers and sellers would be required to undergo biometric verifications.

DG RDA, WASA chairman Mohammad Saif Anwar Jappa, representatives from the Finance Department, the deputy commissioner’s office, and other authorities were among the important attendees at the meeting.

Liaquat Ali Chatha highlighted the importance of the NADRA-RDA agreement in guaranteeing the open transfer of properties while expressing his excitement about it. He also applauded the RDA’s calculated decision to use EFOAS.

EFOAS received praise for its effectiveness in handling routine administrative duties and easing the public sector’s shift to paperless office environments. It also guarantees digital access to all government correspondence around-the-clock.

The meeting authorized the reserve pricing for the RDA parking plaza and billboards, as determined by the price assessment committee, in an effort to increase revenue generation. As a result, the civic body expects a significant 100% rise in revenue.

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has made a decision to transfer the processing of housing schemes and commercial buildings inside Islamabad’s boundaries, as specified by the Survey of Pakistan, to the federal authority. This decision was received with no complaints from the meeting. The RDA is taking a positive step by returning construction plan fees that are pending review.
