Rawalpindi: According to recent updates, the RDA has called on the Cyber Crime Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to take strict action against illegal housing projects. Additionally, the RDA has urged celebrities to refrain from endorsing illegal housing projects and to confirm the housing society’s legal status prior to signing any project agreements.
The RDA Metropolitan Planning & Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate is purportedly responsible for enforcing the Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Schemes Rules, 2021 and the RDA PDC Act, 1976 against illegal housing projects in Rawalpindi, according to the sources.

According to the updates, RDA’s concerns about projects including unauthorized dwellings are listed below:
- The RDA stressed that some unlicensed housing schemes use deceptive sponsorships and advertising in an effort to deceive the public.
- RDA also disclosed that a number of well-known and powerful figures from the entertainment, sports, music, and film industries are becoming more actively involved in the promotion of shady endorsement deals and unlawful housing societies.
- It was also mentioned that some famous persons have endorsed illegal housing projects, encouraging people to believe in and contribute to them.
- Additionally, the RDA cautioned the public against funding illicit residential projects and vertical buildings.
- To protect themselves from fraud or losses, RDA advises prospective investors to confirm the authenticity of No Objection Certifications (NOCs) granted to any housing society in which they wish to invest.
