Pakistan’s ODI captain Mohammad Rizwan has joined the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots for the ongoing 2025 Caribbean Premier League (CPL). He has been signed as a replacement for Afghanistan pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi, who pulled out of the tournament due to national commitments.
Reports suggest that the Patriots will officially announce Rizwan’s signing in the next 24 hours. However, it is still unclear whether he will be available for the team’s upcoming match against the Barbados Royals. The Pakistan Cricket Board is expected to issue a No Objection Certificate to allow Rizwan’s participation.
This is Rizwan’s first time featuring in the CPL and his second international T20 franchise contract. He previously played for the Melbourne Renegades in Australia’s Big Bash League. His addition adds more depth to the Patriots’ squad, which already has Pakistani fast bowlers Naseem Shah and Abbas Afridi as part of the bowling attack.
Cricket fans are eager to see Rizwan in action as he takes on a new challenge in the Caribbean. His presence is likely to bring both experience and stability to the Patriots’ batting lineup.
