Cristiano Ronaldo may be getting ready to leave Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr. After the Saudi Pro League season ended, he shared a post on social media that has fans wondering about his next move.

The 40-year-old football star posted a photo of himself in an Al Nassr jersey with a message that said: “This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all.”

Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in late 2022 after leaving Manchester United. His contract ends this summer, and while nothing has been officially announced, his post suggests he might be leaving the club.

This season, Ronaldo scored 24 goals and became the top scorer in the Saudi Pro League. However, Al Nassr did not win any major trophies. They finished third in the league and were knocked out of the AFC Champions League in the semi-finals by Kawasaki Frontale from Japan.

Now, there is a lot of talk about where Ronaldo will go next. The FIFA Club World Cup is coming up in the United States on June 14. Al Nassr did not qualify, but Ronaldo might still take part. FIFA President Gianni Infantino said some clubs in the tournament are interested in signing him.

“There are discussions with some clubs,” Infantino said in an interview with YouTuber IShowSpeed. “If any club wants to bring Ronaldo for the Club World Cup… who knows?”

Ronaldo’s long-time rival, Lionel Messi, will be playing in the tournament with Inter Miami. If Ronaldo joins a Club World Cup team, fans could see the famous rivalry again.

Ronaldo once said he might end his career at Al Nassr. But now, it looks like he’s thinking about new opportunities as he nears the end of his amazing career, which includes playing for Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus.

The special transfer window for Club World Cup teams is open from June 1 to June 10. It’s still unknown if Ronaldo will join a new club and play in the tournament — but the football world is watching closely.
