Rs 2Bn Economic Package Okayed for South Waziristan
Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved a Rs 2.18 billion project to develop and revitalize the economic infrastructure of the South Waziristan tribal district for a period of three years.

The Special Integrated Area Development Program for South Waziristan County was approved by the Provincial Development Working Group (PDWP) at its recent meeting.
Documents available from Dawn show that the initiative will be implemented from July 2021 to June 2024 with the amount of Rs 2.18 billion to be used to develop various areas of the company. local economy.
Under this plan, Rs 348.2 million will be used for various projects in the irrigation sector, including 45 flood protection works in different parts of the district, 15 welding or welding mines, renovate and build 30 water channels, 22 irrigation channels, soil water reservoirs and concretize 25 water reservoirs and irrigation canals.

In total, Rs 87 million will be spent on various interventions in the forestry sector and Rs 45 million to provide internships for 150 young people.
