Rs 30bn Certified for Karachi Safe City Plan to Be Launched
Syed Murad Ali Shah, the chief minister of Karachi, gave the proposal to create a safe city in Karachi 30 billion rupees. During a meeting to review the project’s development, he made this choice.

Taimur Talpur, the minister of information technology, Mumtaz Shah, M. Waseem, the chairman of planning, and Usman Chachar, the secretary of home, were among those present at the meeting.
The project will install up to 10,000 CCTV cameras in the city in three phases, with each phase taking 12 months to complete beginning with the upcoming fiscal year, 2021–22.

The National Radio & Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC) had made technical and financial suggestions, which the evaluation committee needed to take into account, it was announced to the meeting.
The chief minister gave his approval for the creation of a nine-person technical committee, which will assess the NRTC proposal under the direction of the safe city project’s COO.
According to information given to the chief minister, there are currently 2,196 cameras in place at 538 different locations throughout the city, 1,201 of which belong to the Karachi Metropolitan Council, 198 to the IT department, and 155 to the Sindh police.
