Thousands of people nationwide participate in the quarterly draws for the Rs750 reward bond, which is one of the most popular denominations in Pakistan.
The prize money tax was raised
In the meantime, the federal government has announced updated prize bond winning tax rates. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) recently announced that filers will henceforth be required to pay a 15% withholding tax on any proceeds from prize bonds.
Those who are not registered with the tax system, or non-filers, will have to pay a far larger 30% deduction on their profits.
The action is a component of larger fiscal measures that are intended to promote tax compliance and increase paperwork. According to experts, more people would register with the tax office and discourage informal economic activity as a result of the higher tax burden placed on non-filers.
One of the quarterly draws that has been a mainstay of Pakistan’s financial scene is the voting for the Rs750 prize bond, which is conducted at the National Savings Centre in Peshawar. With the CDNS guaranteeing openness and equity in the selection procedure, these draws are eagerly awaited occasions.

Since its establishment, the prize bond system has played a significant role in helping the government raise money while providing the general public with a risk-free investment option.
The bonds are even more accessible to people all over Pakistan because they are regarded as “bearer instruments,” which allow for easy transferability without registration. Notwithstanding their widespread use, the government has taken fresh steps to prevent abuse and guarantee increased openness in the prize bond market.
